A-level Results Day

It’s A-level results day today, and with official stats showing that the proportion of students passing their A-levels has dropped for the first time in 32 years, if things haven’t worked out exactly how you’d planned – don’t panic!

If they have – then congratulations, but if you’re wondering what to do next, or just know that university isn’t for you then there are lots of other options available to you, including Pub & Bar Careers! (P&BC)

As you can see from our site you can pursue an exciting and rewarding career in the pub and bar industry that doesn’t just include pulling pints.

With the industry needing to recruit 88,000 people by 2018 – there’s definitely a role out there for you. You could be mixing creative cocktails at one of the world’s best bars; creating a new and innovative menu for a gastro pub; organising events and running the marketing for a national pub company; or even juggling the figures behind a multi-million pound business.

Recent research carried out by P&BC demonstrates that it can take as little as two years to progress from an entry-level role to running a business with a turnover in excess of £1 Million.

A range of companies, from industry giants such as Stonegate Pub Company, Spirit and Mitchells & Butlers; large regionals such as Fullers and Young’s; to independent bars and pubs, offer apprenticeships, trainee schemes and excellent career opportunities for young people. In the pub and bar industry there really is no limit to what you can achieve!

Keep your eyes on the blog for more great #ThisCouldBeYou case studies which will hopefully provide you with a little inspiration and guidance as to where to go next.

Good Luck!
